Former X Factor star Adam Chandler has been dating the glam singer on-and-off for 18 months… and often looks after her pooch George.

Adam – who starred in the X Factor in 2007 as part of boyband Futureproof – spent most of last year on tour with the girls and their boyfriends.

He said: “Me and the other boyfriends would go shopping and have a laugh together while the girls were rehearsing.

“It’s quite corny but we’re all pretty close-knit, like a big family.

“The girls are lucky they all get on so well and are really close.

“Us boyfriends are like WAGs, but we’re known to their fans as the BADs – boyfriends and dogs – as we all have to look after the girls’ pet dogs while they’re on tour. All five of them have these tiny little pooches and we look so daft out walking them.”

He joined forces with Mollie King’s boyfriend Andrew Brown, Rochelle Wiseman’s now ex Darren Randolph, Una Healy’s lover Ben Foden, and McFly bassist Dougie Poynter, who was dating Frankie Sandford.

Adam – who spent a year touring and enjoying the celebrity lifestyle after starring on The X Factor – added: “It’s our responsibility to look after the dogs backstage.

“We try not to pay them much attention as it’s not very manly and we look a little bit camp walking these little pups that are the size of your hand.

“Us boyfriends are sometimes forgotten during the gigs.

“We had to stand during most of their sell-out tour last year, at one Glasgow gig we got front row seats, that was a one off.”

Jazz singer Adam – whose mum is from Glasgow – was introduced to Vanessa by his Futureproof bandmate Matthew Protheroe in 2008, just as The Saturdays’ success took off.

He said:  ”I met Vanessa about six months after The X Factor had finished.

“We met at a Girls Aloud gig, when The Saturdays were supporting them.

“I was introduced to Vanessa in the bar after the gig and we got chatting – we clicked straight away.  She’s a gorgeous girl. ” The pair began exchanging flirty texts and calls before going out.

As the couple began dating, Vanessa’s band notched up four Top Ten hits and a Top Ten debut album, Chasing Lights.

Adam added:  ”We get on really well. We’re just chilled out together and we have a laugh.

“I’m so proud of how well Vanessa and the girls have done.

“It’s so hard to get a break in this industry.”

But Vanessa’s fame has made it difficult for the couple to spend time together. Adam said: “When we have time off we just like to relax together and have a laugh.

“Today we’re just shopping. She’s popped off to get her nails done and I’m carrying the shopping bags.

“We love going off on holiday too. We want to go on safari in July, if we can squeeze in a week off work between us.”

The love-struck couple are now flat-hunting for a luxury pad in London. But Adam – who still lives with his mum – confessed they were both HEARTBROKEN when they split in the middle of Vanessa’s stint on ITV show Popstar To Operastar.

The 20-year-old was voted off the programme – eventually won by Darius Campbell – just days after breaking up from Adam.

He said: “I was a total mess when we split, we were both really upset.

“It was just a couple of weeks after spending an amazing holiday together in Thailand.

“And it was right in the middle of Popstar To Operastar in January.

“I was in the studio watching Vanessa the first week, then we split a couple days later and I didn’t go in week two, when she was voted off.

“We were both really upset and it was pretty daunting for Nessa.

“It was a mutual decision to split up but looking back it was so silly. We missed each other and never lost touch, we both wanted to get back together. I’m just so glad things are back on track now and we’ve been flat-hunting.

“We want to spend as much time together as possible.”

This week the couple have viewed a string of properties across London including a trendy converted warehouse in Canary Wharf.

And Adam hopes to one day buy another pad in Glasgow.

He said: “My mum still spends half her time up in Glasgow and I’ve been twice this year already.

“The buildings are beautiful in Glasgow and I’d love to buy a second home there one day.

“But in the meantime I’m focused on buying a place in London. I need to get out of my mum’s house – we all need our own space.”

Based over the weekend of 18th, 19th and 20th June 2010, The Isle Of Man Bay Festival is a boutique festival that has brought together a diverse array of talent that will see three nights of pop, nostalgia and for the first time ever a live collaboration of the TV sensations X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

Festival organisers have now made the festival a three-day camping event, while keeping the essence and diverse roots of the original event. The Friday evening is going to be a modern day Top Of The Pops live with Britain’s biggest pop acts JLS, The Saturdays and Lemar all take to the tented stage.

Having made one of the most celebrated comebacks of the past 20 years the mighty Spandau Ballet will be making their first ever appearance on the Isle Of Man on the Saturday evening. Also on the bill are pop rockers The Feeling and chart sensation Calvin Harris

The final day is a plethora of the old and new. In the afternoon X-Factor Meets Britain’s Got Talent where finalists from each show such as Olly Murs, Leon Jackson, Diversity and Signature bring TV to life. In the evening it is the turn of Here And Now, The Very Best Of The 80’s… Rick Astley, Boy George, Kim Wilde plus other legends of the 80’s will bring the weekend to a nostalgic pop filled dance fest end.

Lemar said, “I’m delighted to be involved in the first Bay Festival over in the Isle Of Man. Being part of a line up that includes JLS and The Saturdays is going to be great and will make got a really fun evening. As I’m promoting my greatest hits album it gives me an excuse to play a greatest hits set, so I’m looking forward to that. Hopefully this will be the first of many to come.”

THE SATURDAYS provide five shapely reasons to head to Old Trafford for a concert raising cash for Sports Relief.

The gorgeous girl group will kick off a pre match concert alongside other leading acts at Manchester United’s home ground on May 1.

Proceeds will go to Sport Relief and the Manchester United Foundation.

The music will warm up the crowd before a star studded football match between Manchester United XI and The Rivals, featuring a mixture of Red Devils’ legends and celebrity supporters competing against some of their greatest rivals.

But considering it was top girl group The Saturdays, it was bound to be somewhat different.

Una Healy, 28, Mollie King, 22, Vanessa White, 20 and Rochelle Wiseman, 20, chose to celebrate band member Frankie Sandford‘s 21st birthday with a luxury sleepover at a top London hotel.

The Saturdays gathered at the Soho Sanctum hotel, where they booked suites costing from £500 a night to celebrate her 21st birthday in style.

The girls seen arriving at the hotel dressed in typical pop starlet style despite the freezing temperatures.

Birthday girl Frankie showed off her enviable legs in a black ruched minidress with an oversized chiffon sleeve.

While bandmate Mollie King, 22, wore a fashionable body con lace dress.

As well as Frankie, who is dating McFly star Dougie Poynter, and her bandmates, pop pals JLS were also expected to attend the bash.

A source said: ‘The girls have all chipped in to make sure that this is going to be celebrated in style.

‘They’ve hired the whole of the top floor of the hotel, which boasts a roof terrace and outdoor hot tub.

‘And they are all staying in top suites for the night with rooms worth around £500 a pop.’

And just in case one can’t quite imagine what a sleepover with the Saturdays might look like, the girls have posted their own impression on their website.

While filming scenes for their single Ego, Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa White and Rochelle are seen having a pillow fight in their underwear.

Unfortunately for them the raucous fight ended when their vigorous bouncing broke the bed. 

The girls recently released single Ego from second album Wordshaker. And they are the current cover stars of the new issue of men’s magazine FHM.

White is one of the celebrities taking part in the new reality show, which will feature Katherine Jenkins and tenor Rolando Villazon attempting to turn pop singers into opera performers.

Speaking at the launch of the new reality series, the popstar told DS that she is finding it strange giving interviews and performing without her bandmates.

“I’m used to just piping up and saying one little thing, because the other four girls will all be talking as well,” she told DS. “I’m finding it weird that when I look around the girls are not next to me – that’s really nerve-wracking.”

The 20-year-old also revealed that she hopes her new opera training will benefit her bandmates in the long run.

“I think there are loads of things I can take into my pop singing,” she said. “I’m going to see if the opera techniques I have learnt will work in pop.”
